San Diego Live Event Safety Update
The San Diego City Council took a major step to protect live event workers by unanimously passing an ordinance requiring live event vendors operating at City-owned facilities and parks to certify that workers handling complex event setups have completed standardized safety training.The ordinance, authored by Councilmember Raul Campillo, ensures live event workers conducting advanced work, such as those setting up stages and powered equipment, receive proper safety training, including OSHA courses and industry certifications, to prevent workplace accidents.
