Tara Hama-Amin
Tara Amin is the Program Manager of the Project Management, and Digital Marketing Certificate Programs at UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies. She brings over 20 years of experience in higher education, with deep expertise in program management, curriculum development, and student support.
Tara holds a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in Instructional Technology from Chapman University, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from San Diego State University. She also holds a certificate in Project Management and is certified in Scrum. Her professional background includes supporting large-scale programs and teams at the Defense Language Institute.
A passionate advocate for educational access and equity, Tara is deeply committed to creating pathways for learners from all backgrounds to thrive, both professionally and personally. She believes that education is one of the most powerful tools for transformation.
As a proud Kurdish woman, Tara draws continual inspiration from her cultural heritage and roots, which shape her perspective on community, resilience, and belonging. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and gardening, pursuits that keep her grounded and connected to the world around her.
