Professor David G. Victor This lecture will examine oil and energy in the context of current geopolitical realities, along with potential future scenarios where the energy system faces shifts in policy environment, administrations and global order. It will discuss the future of energy along with the technological and political realities that can impact an energy system in transition. What’s happened, what might unfold and what does it all mean for the future of global energy.
Speaker Bio
David G. Victor is Distinguished Professor of Innovation and Public Policy at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego. He co-directs the campus-wide Deep Decarbonization Initiative, which focuses on the engineering, economic and political challenges associated with bringing the world to nearly zero emissions of warming gasses. He received PhD in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
